Unlike what most people might think; the first
feature length film ever, was made in Australia. The movie The
Story of the Kelly Gang tells the story of the legendary Australian bushranger, Ned
Kelly (1855-1880). It was 70 minutes long, which was unprecedented when it was released in
1906. Not only recent blockbusters were shot in Australia, but the very roots of movies
lie here.
Australia has not only brought forth great actors and actresses, but also has a
great movie history. Since the late 1800s until today, award winning movies as Picnic
at Hanging Rock, Sunday Too Far Away and Mad Max were filmed and
produced Down Under. |
